British tennis star Emma Raducanu ends the current season and will keep coach through next year.

Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events of the year as a result of a health issue she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
