Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards along with O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to replace the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the team's ten-game winless start to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - both of who have historic links to the team - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

The manager is currently at another club, which would pose a possible obstacle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

Nevertheless the ex- Luton manager - who made more than 100 of games for the club during his playing career - is considered a strong contender for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves directors as they start the search of hiring a fresh manager.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, although he would be a surprising choice given he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The former West Ham midfielder is currently unemployed which means the club would not need to provide any compensation.
