Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A jet carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.

"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.

This incident does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
