President Trump Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Tragic Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed reporters. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Government Changes

Officials have charged a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy led the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with the family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” he informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
