On Monday, the court heard call records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most covered missing child cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I know what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I do not need money, I possess a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.

The panel was told that by means of emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the call data.

On that date, Gerry McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

The court learned the co-defendant developed a connection online with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in December 2024.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had contacted using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the appearance to Rothley, that area, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in last November, considering trying to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg sent a communication which said: "We are positioned adjacent to the McCanns' home with our headlights off like investigators. I desired to achieve this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
