More than two weeks following the shocking loss of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the film, remarking that he could not remember "a single day without mirth".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles judge ruled to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

Following the tragedy, public figures expressed varying responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making controversial statements that were widely condemned by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser ought to have acted when the choice to comment on the passing was made.
