Trump Organization Sought to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business accelerated its hiring of overseas employees on temporary visas this period, even as his government was creating barriers for other companies wanting to do the identical, a report released Thursday claimed.

Based on information from the federal labor department, the business aimed to hire at least 184 overseas employees in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering staff including servers, office assistants, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the highest ever filed by the company, and up from 121 in the previous term, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had attempted to bring in more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has included the implementation of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the millions of people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for international scholars and reporters.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to employ 566 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the presidency, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was questioned by certain in the GOP this period for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.
